Earlier, the NGT also asked the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government to submit a status report on the steps taken to implement its order and ordered to conduct raids.Delhi environment minister Imran Hussain said that civic agencies have issued 1,650 challans till now and fine worth Rs 31,80,000 has been collected as environment compensation. This comes three days after the National Green Tribunal (NGT) observed that the plastic ban is not being implemented strictly in the city and directed the Delhi government to impose a fine of Rs 5,000 on those violating the ban order and also carry out raids on shops or vendors possessing such bags.

The bench had posted the matter for hearing on October 31. Teams of the three MCDs, New Delhi Municipal Council, Delhi Cantonment Board, Delhi Pollution Control Committee  and other concerned departments raided the shops and vendors.
